Structural steel work to begin at Green Memorial Home
Neighbours living around the construction zone of the Dr. F.W. Green Memorial Home replacement project will begin to see structural steel deliveries starting on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, with installation continuing through December 15.
Offsite infrastructure works and temporary road closures, which began around July 22, have been extended to October 12.
To safely accommodate crane operations and steel installation, a temporary lane closure during deliveries will be in effect along portions of 18th Avenue South during this period.
The offsite works, originally scheduled from July 22 to September 1, have been extended to October 12, due to unforeseen circumstances encountered during construction. Residents and the public may continue to experience temporary road closures and traffic disruptions in the surrounding area.
Noise generating work, like machinery operation, will only take place during permitted work hours and will follow all local bylaws.
Residents whose property fronts directly onto the work site, the contractor will reach out directly and can answer any questions.
We appreciate the understanding and patience of the neighbourhood while this necessary project work is completed.
