RDEK giving $130k to KEYSA facility

Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) board of directors Jan. 5 unanimously agreed to provide $130,000 toward the Kootenay East Youth Soccer Association’s (KEYSA) indoor sports facility project.

KEYSA is proposing to build an indoor sports facility and is currently fundraising. The total project is estimated at a value of $1.7 million, excluding land.

RDEK board chair and Electoral Area C Director Rob Gay said the regional government support is arriving early enough for KEYSA to seek matching grants and other support.
