Stolen vehicle torched at Tie Lake Transfer Station

Cranbrook RCMP is investigating after a vehicle stolen from Fernie was found torched at the Tie Lake Transfer Station yesterday (August 19).

On August 17, Elk Valley RCMP was advised of an overnight theft of a yellow 2002 Subaru Forester from a parking lot on 1st Avenue in Fernie.

Two days later, Cranbrook RCMP received a report that a vehicle had been located torched at the Tie Lake Transfer Station.

“The vehicle has been seized by police and efforts are being made to identify witnesses,” reported S/Sgt. Barry Graham, Cranbrook RCMP Detachment commander.
