Suspects caught after break-in at local landfill
Cranbrook RCMP have arrested three people after being alerted to a break in at the Central Subregion Landfill.
On May 12 at approximately 8:21 p.m., Cranbrook RCMP was called to Eager Hill Road to a report of a break in. The caller advised that the suspects were still on scene and he had witnessed them breaking into the compound and taking several items.
RCMP arrived and arrested three individuals involved in the incident.
Numerous items were seized from the trio including copper wire and tools. The suspects, a 45-year old woman and a 45-year old man from Cranbrook, along with a 42-year old Alberta resident, were released from custody to appear in court at a later date.
“The members were able to seize a large quantity of items during the arrest of these individuals,” said Cst. Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP. “The investigation is ongoing and several charges will be recommended to the BC Prosecution Service.”
