Elkford celebrates 50 years with Wildcat Days
The District of Elkford celebrated a belated 50th birthday along with the annual Wildcat Days festivities last weekend (July 1-3).
The fun started Friday with a host of Canada Day activities, including a fireworks show.
Saturday was chock-a-block with events, from a pancake breakfast to the annual parade, a large market in the Elkford Community Conference Centre, a host of fun and games for kids, arts and crafts, demonstrations, stilt walkers, live music, beverage gardens as well as baseball and volleyball tournaments.
The weekend also featured the Elkford Lions Club’s first ever Show and Shine, which was a huge success with over 50 entries. The club hopes to make the event an annual one.
