Elkford SAR rescue hiker in Elk Lakes
Elkford Search and Rescue (SAR) was deployed at 10 p.m. July 8 to aid a hiker experiencing a medical issue in the Elk Lakes area.
Crews were deployed to assist and transport the subject to BC Ambulance Service.
“Was a long night for the members. Subject was located and transported back to Elkford and handed over to BCAS for transport to hospital. Was an interesting night. Scheduled power outage, awesome light show from the storm at base but these events didn’t hinder the members that attended. Great Job Team,” Elkford SAR stated on social media this morning.
SAR also offered a reminder that there is no charge for search and rescue in B.C. when you call 911.
