Annex duck pond off limits to give moose space

The City of Fernie and the BC Conservation Officer Service (COs) are asking the public to stay out of the duck pond area of Annex Park, to give a moose that has been staying in the area some space to move on.

Please adhere to the signs posted on the dike at 5th Street and on the dike at 11th Street at 12th Avenue.

The city also reminds that all dogs must be on leash, unless in the off-leash dog park area.

City Bylaw Services and COs will be monitoring the area. If your animal is caught harassing wildlife you could be fined $235. All off-leash dogs are also subject to a $50 fine.

Please call the RAPP line to report any harmful activity: 1-877-952-7277.
