On January 19, Fernie Alpine Resort reported to Elk Valley RCMP numerous pairs of skis, along with poles/bindings, and snowboards had been stolen from the ski area.

Officers worked diligently on this investigation and with the co-operation of the Strathmore RCMP Detachment in Alberta and as a result two youth have been arrested and charged with the theft of these stolen items.

“The investigation actively continues as some of these skis and snowboards have not been recovered as of yet,” reported Cst. Debra Katerenchuk, Media Relations Officer with Elk Valley RCMP.
