Bear and moose reported on trails
WildSafeBC Elk Valley reported this morning (Monday, July 22) that bear and moose sightings have been reported on trails around Fernie.
A black bear and cubs have been seen on Sherwoody Forest Trail in Mount Fernie Provincial Park.
A bear and cubs were seen in a backyard on Ridgemont Avenue early this morning, too.
Also, moose sightings have been reported at the top of Phat Bastard and on Montane trails yesterday (July 21).
Be prepared and expect to encounter wildlife anytime. Make noise to avoid surprise encounters and warn wildlife and other trail users of your presence.
