The City of Fernie earlier this week issued a Notice to Electors of an Alternative Approval Process (AAP) to expand city boundaries in order to bring the Fernie Ford Dealership into city limits.

The City of Fernie is petitioning the Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development to request an extension of the area of the municipality to include a lot north of Brenners Road where the Fernie Ford Dealership is currently situated. Eligible electors opposed to the city’s intention to petition the Minister to request an extension of the municipality without first obtaining the assent of the electors by a referendum vote may indicate their opposition by signing and returning an Elector Response Form to City Hall by the deadline.

The deadline to submit Elector Response Forms is 5 p.m., September 12.
