Dirty Catfish Brass Band in Fernie Nov. 30

With perfect timing for the weather to take a turn, Dirty Catfish Brass Band (DCBB) aim to keep their Fernie fans warm when they hit The Northern Bar & Stage on November 30.

“Every time we perform outside of our local community of Winnipeg, we are most excited to share our music with new fans and catch up with friends and fellow music lovers that we’ve come across in the past,” said DCBB band member Kyle Wedlake. “We’ll also be travelling further west than ever before, and are really looking forward to exploring these areas.”

Invoking the sounds of the New Orleans brass tradition, the collective dares to re-imagine the frostbitten streets of Canadian cities as those that are hot, alive, and brimming with soul. For those who may have caught DCBB in the past, they are guaranteed to never see the same show twice.

“We’ve been writing lots of new music over the summer and have been getting geared up to start on our next full length recording project,” Wedlake explained. “We’ll also be spending the majority of the winter months in the recording studio working on recording new music! ”

The Dirty Catfish Brass Band plays Fernie’s Northern Bar & Stage Friday, November 30.
