Fernie appoints Chief Election Officer
The City of Fernie has appointed Kevin Allen as Chief Election Officer for the 2026 Municipal Election in October.
Mr. Allen comes to the position with a depth of experience and has provided the service to the city in the 2014, 2018, and 2022 municipal elections.
Mr. Allen takes the role effective July 6 and will have an office within City Hall to support the election commencing August 3, 2026.
Along with this appointment, city council appointed Corporate Officer Lavinia McElwee, Deputy Corporate Officer Tricia Fichter, and Chief Administrative Officer Michael Boronowski as Deputy Chief Election Officers.
