Ground broken for new Fernie Fire Hall
A major milestone for Fernie!
Today we celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Fernie Fire Hall.
Construction of the purpose-built facility is now underway, and once complete will provide Fernie Fire and Emergency Services with a safe and permanent Fire Hall to serve our growing community for years to come.
Thank you to our internal project team, Community Working Group volunteers, and our consultant and construction partners for their expertise and commitment in moving this important project forward.
The City of Fernie is grateful to be receiving $7 million in funding for the project through the Strategic Priorities Fund. Thank you to the Government of Canada, Province of British Columbia and the Union of BC Municipalities.
