Better at Home services available in Kimberley
Volunteers invited to take part in service
Summit Community Services Society (SCSS) is pleased to announce that we have been rolling out services such as friendly visiting, light housekeeping, minor home repairs and light yard work to low or modest-income seniors to allow them to live independently and remain connected to their communities.
Better at Home (BAH) services are available to all seniors living within the Kimberley city limits catchment area and are provided by staff and volunteers.
Our staff and volunteers receive training to deliver services to seniors and meet all the criteria necessary for employment with SCSS and BAH.
We invite you to volunteer with us to grow the Better at Home program!
Volunteering not only benefits community seniors, but you as well.
When we volunteer, we give back to the community and can develop our personal growth and fulfillment. Volunteering has numerous benefits: it keeps our minds sharp, enhances our emotional well-being, and instills a sense of purpose, accomplishment, and satisfaction. It’s an opportunity to learn new skills, build new connections, and strengthen our sense of community and belonging.
As little as one hour a week of your time can make a difference for Kimberley’s seniors to remain in their homes and connected to the community.
Apply through the iVolunteer app or contact the program coordinator at [email protected] or 250-581-4344.
