Boil Water Notice rescinded; WQA remains

Please be advised that the recent BOIL WATER NOTICE for all residents of Kimberley has been RESCINDED as of 11 a.m. May 9.  A Water Quality Advisory remains in effect.

The City of Kimberley Sunday, May 7 issued a Boil Water Notice for all users in the city in accordance with Interior Heath’s Water Quality Notification Program.

The city continually monitors the turbidity levels and posts the average daily readings on the website at Kimberley.ca.

The turbidity index has three levels of water quality reading: Good, Fair and Poor.  All users are to boil their water when the water quality is poor.

Interior Health recommends that all customers drink boiled water or a safe alternative until further notice. Water intended for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making juice or ice, or brushing teeth should be boiled for one minute. Water should then be cooled and stored in a clean, covered container in the fridge. Customers may also choose to use bottled or distilled water, or water that has been filtered through a well-maintained treatment device.
