The City of Kimberley Fire Department (CKFD) was dispatched to a structure fire on the 400 block of Spokane Street at 7:17 p.m. on Monday, November 29.

Fire crews arrived to find smoke and flames coming from a two-storey multi-family residential property.

Fire crews quickly removed one occupant and extinguished the fire.

On scene were five CKFD units with 19 firefighters, BC Ambulance Service, RCMP, City Operations, BC Hydro and Fortis Gas.

There were no injuries and a total of three occupants were taken into care by Red Cross.

There is extensive smoke and fire damage to the interior of the building.

Results of the fire investigation are pending, the city reported this morning.
