Brownbag Lunch with Mayor McCormick

On Wednesday, September 13, and on the second Wednesday of each month, Mayor Don McCormick will host a brown-bag luncheon at City Hall from noon until 1:30 p.m.. Bring your own lunch and have a discussion with the Mayor.

Meeting Schedule

The city has now concluded the summer schedule for council meetings.

Committee of the Whole Meetings will be held the first and third Mondays of the month, and

Regular Meetings the second and fourth Mondays.

The Regular Meetings of Council for the month of September will be held on Monday,

September 11 and on Monday, September 18 at 7 p.m. The Committee of the Whole

Meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 18 at 7 p.m.

All council meetings are open to the public, unless otherwise stated, and are located in the Council Chambers at City Hall. All scheduled meetings are added to the events calendar, which can be viewed on our website. http://www.kimberley.ca/events/calendar

Speed Signs

The City of Kimberley is urging motorists to please obey all road speed signs within city limits. Please be extra cautious in school and playground zones, as school is back in session next week.

Bridge Closure

The Archibald Street Bridge will be closed for repairs from approximately September 1 to September 29. There will be a detour in effect and residents are asked to please use alternate routes.

No Unauthorized Vehicles in the Platzl

Please be reminded that the Platzl is for pedestrian use only. There is no motor vehicle access permitted unless authorized by the City of Kimberley.

Transit Commuter Service

Starting on September 5, the Kimberley Transit System will provide a weekday commuter service, making it easier and more convenient for Kimberley residents to get to Cranbrook for work or school. The new commuter service will run Monday through Friday, arriving in Cranbrook between 8:10 and 8:20 a.m., and leaving for Kimberley in the evenings between 4:40 and 4:50 p.m. To view the full schedule and routes, please visit bctransit.com/Kimberley.

Recreation Facilities Rental Rates

Come to the Aquatic Centre and enjoy a Free Public Swim on Wednesday, September 6 from 5 to 6 p.m. sponsored by Sprout Grocery.
