Police believe gymnastics club fire had suspicious origin

Kimberley RCMP today reports it believes the Dec. 14 early morning fire that destroyed the home of the Kimberley Gymnastics Club and Gyminy Cricket daycare to have a suspicious cause.

In the early morning hours of December 14, Kimberley RCMP attended a fire at in the 2000 block of Warren Avenue at the Kimberley Gymnastics Club.

Initial investigation by the Kimberley Fire Department indicated the fire may be suspicious in nature resulting in the attendance of an RCMP Fire Investigator and the Forensic Identification Unit from Cranbrook.

During the course of the investigation, which included interviews of several witnesses, Kimberley RCMP believe that this fire is suspicious in nature.
