Kimberley seizes Kootenay Conference finals lead
The Kimberley Dynamiters are proving a hard nut to crack for the Beaver Valley Nitehawks in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) Kootenay Conference finals.
The Nitros overpowered the Nitehawks in the first two games of the series at the Kimberley Civic Centre, filing 6-1 and 4-2 victories.
Kimberley was paced in game two last night by Cranbrook-born forward Trevor Van Steinburg with a goal and an assist.
The series moves west to Fruitvale’s Beaver Valley Arena for game three tomorrow night (Friday, March 18) and game four Saturday, March 19.
Game five, if necessary, will be back in Kimberley on Monday, March 21.
