Wild time at Spring Splash and Dummy Downhill

By Krista Nebloch

It was a festive closing weekend at Kimberley Alpine Resort in mid April with the Spring Splash and Dummy Downhill.

The weather cooperated, the splashers big and small bravely splashed putting on quite a show for all who attended.

All set to the energetic soundtrack of great bands including The Hollers, The Good Ol’ Goats and headliners Yukon Blonde. Much dancing ensued.

The dummies were really creative and very well made this year.

It was almost a shame to see them flying off the jump to the carnage below.

Almost as it really is fun to see things smashing and crashing, it’s silly good fun.

There were some fun costumes and seeing the retro ‘70’s and ‘80’s ski wear sure takes one back.

Some went in backwards, some hot-dogged across the pond out the other side finishing with tricks, one stopped right before the pond and jumped in.

Everyone has his/her own style. The splash pond was one degree so wiping out in the pond is chilly to say the least.

Thanks to all who came out and played on the hill!

See you next season!
