DBA advocating downtown seasonal patios

The Cranbrook Downtown Business Association (DBA) is encouraging all downtown restaurateurs to explore the addition of an outdoor patio.

City of Cranbrook council adopted Downtown Seasonal Patio Bylaw No. 3860 at the end of June 2016, allowing the establishment of curbside patios.

No curbside patios were set up before the summer season passed by, likely a result of the late start business owners/managers faced.

The DBA noted in its March e-News that “Feedback is welcome and needed in order to advocate and support those who are in a position to make the investment.”

DBA President Joey Hoeschmann invites business owners to send their perspective to him or attend the next DBA meeting on April 12, at 5:30 p.m. at the The Heidout Restaurant and Brewhouse’s downstairs meeting room.
