Parents remembered with $10,000 endowment

Whether it is joyous childhood memories or the times remembered in adult years the love of our parents touches us greatly. This story is about one such family… Roy and Annabel Maundrell.

The Maundrells moved to Windermere in 1959; in 1979 the family moved to Fernie, while still maintaining property in Windermere. Mom and dad returned to Windermere in 1985 where they lived until 2000.

The couple loved the Columbia Valley and happily shared their time there with sons Robert, David, Chris and their families. Regrettably Roy passed away in 1990, and Annabel in April 2016, but it is the legacy that their sons’ and families leave is the true testament of lives well lived.

The Maundrell family recently honoured the East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH) with a $10,000 endowment gift for the Invermere & District Hospital. The family’s wish is that the donation be placed into an endowment to help grow an endowment for the future.  This is something that the family believes would have pleased their Mom and Dad.

Legacy giving is a way of supporting things that you and your family care about, now or after you’re gone. EKFH encourages donors to discuss their plans with their family, with legal and financial counsel making a charitable gift that truly makes a difference in the lives for you, yours and others.

EKFH is extremely gratified in the ability to steward gifts for health care facilities and programs in the East Kootenay. To learn more about our work visit us at www.ekfh.ca.
