Youth in custody after gun and drugs seized
Cranbrook RCMP is continuing to investigate after a local youth was charged with several offences over the past week.
Early this week Cranbrook RCMP received information that a local youth was in possession of a firearm and was actively selling drugs from a residence.
RCMP arrested the youth and obtained a search warrant for the residence. A firearm was located, along with pre-packaged drugs and a large amount of cash.
The 16-year-old Cranbrook resident remains in custody and is currently facing charges of Utter threats, Possess of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Trafficking and breach of an Intensive Support and Supervision Order.
“The youth will remain in custody until at least February 19 when he will again appear before the courts,” reported Cst .Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP.
