Snow and ice management pilot project launched

The City of Fernie is launching a pilot project to test proposed changes to the way it manages snow and ice.

A review of the city’s current snow and ice management practices determined that the current methods are not sustainable, the city reports on its website.

The pilot project, and coinciding community engagement, will be used to assist the development of a new Snow and Ice Control Policy for the 2020/2021 winter season.

The operational pilot will run from February 18 to April 15.

During this time, the public can expect to see a shift in the way some aspects of this service are provided.

Learn more about the proposed changes and how you can provide input on the City of Fernie website.
