Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting employees ratify agreement
The region’s highways won’t be impacted by a labour battle this upcoming winter.
Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting announced this morning (Sept. 21) that a settlement has been reached with its employees at Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting LP (Contract SA11).
“We are pleased to reach this end result and look forward to preparing for winter operations and a successful four years ahead,” Noel Mankey, Vice President, Operations.
The agreement was ratified on Tuesday, September 18.
Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting LP is a division of the Mainroad Group, a 100% employee-owned British Columbia company specializing in infrastructure products and services. Mainroad was formed in 1988 and has successfully held the maximum number of government road maintenance contracts in B.C. since then. The company has become one of B.C.’s most diversified groups of civil infrastructure, maintenance and construction experts.
