Power tools, partial nudity and a ‘DECK’

It’s time for a night out for the adults.  Call a friend, book the sitter and come to the Key City Theatre on October 11 for an evening of laughter.

Who doesn’t know Mike Holmes, Bryan Baeumler or Paul LeFrance?  Men admire them, women adore them …. And then there is Cliv!

Lucas Myers is bringing his one man show DECK to Cranbrook.  Examining the fine line between perfectionism and obsession, chaos and freedom and when is a 2×6 a 2×6?

Lucas plays all the characters in DECK and through voice changes and body mannerisms he is convincing as a sixteen year old girl, a fourteen year old boy, an uptight father and free spirit who is perhaps a little too free at times.

Cliv is a single parent of two who has been forced to reassess his future.  Embracing a new start in a small town, he’s eco-conscious and a back-to-the-lander.  From the start, his attempts at self- sufficiency are hijacked by a bad house buy and he is forced to try his hand at home improvement.

Enter Corey, the charismatic carpenter who takes Cliv under his wing and offers to lend him a hand.  As Cliv is drawn into Corey’s free-wheeling lifestyle he begins to lose his grasp on reality and he is consumed by his suspicions of Corey’s true motives.

You don’t want to miss out on this great night.  Tickets are only $15 each or for KCT members, 2 for $25 and you can become a member today.  Key City Theatre would like to thank Rona for their generous support for supplies. The Deck will be auctioned off at the end of the evening, so be sure to bring your truck!

Don’t forget to keep an eye on the KCT website and Facebook to see who else will be coming to the Theatre, events are always being added!  www.keycitytheatre.com .
