Emergency Services Food Drive a massive success
Sparwood Search and Rescue (SAR) reports this year’s food and toy drive was a massive success!
Sparwood’s emergency responders went door‐to‐door collecting donations of food, new unwrapped toys, and cash on Sunday, Dec. 5. The annual drive is to support the Sparwood Food Bank and Toys for Tots.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the Emergency Services personnel, volunteers, and donors who helped to fill the Food Bank with more donations than we’ve ever brought in,” Sparwood SAR stated.
“We couldn’t even keep count this year, as every one of our eight collection teams needed to make multiple trips to drop off donations because their trucks were full!
“Our community’s amazing generosity always shines at this time of year, so once again thank you all for helping to make this a happy holiday season for so many people.”
Along with Sparwood SAR, Sparwood Fire Department, Elk Valley RCMP and Sparwood Food Share members volunteered in this worthy endeavour.
