Better news in terms of incoming weather: Mainroad
Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting reports good news in terms of incoming weather this upcoming holiday weekend, which will allow it to gain an upper hand on roadways after the recent freezing rain event.
“The East Kootenay Service area has experienced some drastically changing weather over the past few days. As we head into the New Year weekend, the weather is improving with very light snowfall expected on Friday and forecasted to be clear with warm temperatures throughout the weekend,” Mainroad stated in a stakeholders update Dec. 29.
“Our crews are out pre – treating the highway with our liquid deicing material ahead of the snow and to remove the remaining compact on the main highways. We are continuing to work on the side roads in a priority sequence.”
Mainroad’s 24-hour communications and dispatch office will pass on all your observations and concerns to our crews when contacted.
As always, a reminder to drive to the conditions and check www.drivebc.ca for updates.
