The City of Cranbrook this morning issued an alert about a text message scam being received by some residents.

“We’ve been alerted to some of our residents receiving text messages claiming that they owe money on parking tickets,” said city Communications Officer Chris Zettel.

“The text does not specifically say it is from ‘City of Cranbrook’, but it is requesting the user click on a link within the message. Do not click the link,” Zettel stressed.

“Please report the text as junk and delete the message. We will never text you about a parking infraction. Please be aware and stay safe online!”
