Invermere Film Festival’s Movie Night for June is Academy Award winning Brutalist on Tuesday, May 6 at Columbia Valley Centre.
In 1947, visionary architect László Toth fled post-war Europe in search of a new beginning. In a strange new country, he’s discovered by wealthy industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren, who recognizes his talent and helps launch his career. But power, legacy, and ambition come at a cost.
The Brutalist is the winner of three Academy Awards including Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role – Adrien Brody.
Brutalist will begin early at 6 p.m. (please note: this is earlier than our usual 7 p.m. start) due to its extended runtime. The screening will include a 15-minute intermission, (one hour and 45 minutes after the start of the film).
Doors open at 5 p.m. – come early to grab your seat, enjoy some fresh popcorn and a drink, and settle in for a truly unforgettable night at the movies.
