The art of wearable works
When Art Meets Fashion A Solo Exhibit by Darcy Wanuk at Art Gallery Kimberley
Art Gallery Kimberley is proud to present a solo exhibit by local fibre artist, clothing designer, jeweller, and creative visionary Darcy Wanuk. The exhibit showcases Darcy’s distinctive approach to art, blending textiles with contemporary design, and turning everyday materials into wearable works of art.
Darcy’s artistic career is rooted in curiosity and a fearless exploration of new techniques. Drawing on her background in multiple artistic mediums, she continues to push creative boundaries—recently adding silversmithing to her extensive skill set. Her latest works feature bold yet elegant, handmade fibre-based pieces, jewellery, and one-of-a-kind designs that highlight her unique perspective.
“I love the challenge of exploring new ideas and techniques,” said Darcy. “Being a fashionista, I was frustrated never being able to find designs that matched my style—so I decided to make them myself.”
Clean lines, lasting, materials, and an eye for the contemporary define her creations. Darcy balances minimalism with personality. Each piece is designed not just to be worn, but to be experienced.
Her passion for craftsmanship is evident. “I am constantly learning and researching my craft to provide the highest quality product,” she explains. “It’s great to share my designs with the world and see collectors’ smiles.”
Visitors to the gallery can expect an imaginative collection where art and fashion meet—a tactile experience that invites you to see clothing and jewellery not just as accessories, but as expressive art forms.
Exhibition Dates: June 12 through July 6 at Art Gallery Kimberley, 167 Deer Park Ave.
Join us in celebrating the creativity and vision of Darcy Wanuk—a local talent redefining wearable art— during the exhibit and at the Meet & Greet on Saturday, June 28 between 2 and 4 p.m.
