Downtown Invermere filled with Appreciation July 19

The Columbia Valley and its residents and visitors can consider themselves appreciated once again.

Downtown Invermere burst to life on a sunny Saturday morning (July 19), following a torrential thunderstorm the night before, with the running of the 30th annual Valley Appreciation Day (VAD).

Service clubs once again turned out to prepare pancake feasts for the many hundreds of folks who packed into the downtown, with 13th Street closed to accommodate the crowds and subsidiary attractions, fun and games for the whole family.

Running in conjunction to VAD was a jammed pack, thriving Invermere Farmers’ Market in the downtown parking lot.

We were too late for pancakes but took in all the sights, sounds and flavours offered until mid-afternoon.

The following is a brief look at the festivities.
