The Sounds of the Season resonate at St. Aidan’s

By Erin Knutson

The Mountain Song Community Choir (MSCC) lit up St. Aidan Orthodox Church during its Sounds of the Season Programme on December 11, directed by Evan Bueckert and accompanied by Isabella Ferraro, to a packed audience.

Including a diverse repertoire, the mixture of Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass, and Ferraro’s inspired accompaniment resonated throughout the church, harkening a magical feel appropriate for this time of year.

“It is with great pleasure that I introduce the Sounds of the Season and Mountain Song Community Choir. Thank you for being here tonight,” said Bueckert before beginning the evening’s selection.

The combination of traditional and modern music, including a German version of Silent Night, with the audience included in the vocals, rendered guests immobile for an hour of ethereal, transcendent, and moving songs that demonstrated the grace and beauty of Mountain Song Choir while capturing the spirit of the winter season.

Mountain Song choir is always looking for new members who enjoy music and want to share in the fun of singing together. For anyone interested in joining the choir, please get in touch with the MSCC Board Member and Facilitator, Carly Benson, at www.mountainsong.ca
