Fuel reduction work coming to Wasa area
The Provincial Wildfire Risk Reduction Program (WRR) will soon be starting a new section of its fuel reduction project in the Wasa area.
The work consists of 40 hectares adjacent to the Wasa community and Wasa Lake Provincial Park and is being done by the WRR Program.
Local contractors will be working through the winter using primarily chainsaws to complete the work.
Work hours will be between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Signage will be placed at entry points warning the public of operations taking place during periods of active work.
Please respect active work areas and do not enter active falling sites.
Work will begin in January 2026 and is expected to be completed before the spring of 2026.
