Honouring 100 Years of Service, Spirit, and Community with the Royal Canadian Legion and Cranbrook Branch No. 24
The Spirit of the Rockies Society is proud to announce the official theme for RockiesFest 2026: Honouring 100 Years of Service, Spirit, and Community with the Royal Canadian Legion, including 100 years of Cranbrook Legion Branch No. 24.
RockiesFest 2026 will proudly recognize a century of dedication, sacrifice, and community leadership by the Royal Canadian Legion, while also celebrating the 100th anniversary of Cranbrook Legion Branch No. 24, a cornerstone of service and remembrance in the local community since its founding.
For generations, Branch 24 has supported veterans and their families, contributed to countless community initiatives, and played a vital role in fostering remembrance, unity, and civic pride in Cranbrook.
“RockiesFest has always been about celebrating the heart of our community,” said Missy Besanger, Chair of the Spirit of the Rockies Society. “In 2026, we are honoured to recognize both the Royal Canadian Legion’s national legacy and the 100-year milestone of Cranbrook Legion Branch 24, whose impact has been deeply felt throughout our community.”
The 2026 theme will be woven throughout RockiesFest programming, events, and activities, creating opportunities for residents, businesses, service organizations, and visitors to reflect on the Legion’s lasting legacy while celebrating Cranbrook’s strong community spirit. Special recognitions, themed events, and collaborative initiatives will highlight the history, service, and continued contributions of the Royal Canadian Legion and Branch 24.
RockiesFest remains one of Cranbrook’s signature community festivals, bringing together arts, culture, sports, entertainment, and local organizations in a celebration of local pride and connection. The 2026 theme invites the entire community to honour the past, recognize service, and celebrate the spirit that continues to unite Cranbrook today.
