Snowfall anticipated region-wide

Snowfall is expected to return to the East Kootenay this evening and tomorrow (Feb. 15 and 16).

Mainroad East Kootenay reports it has pretreated the highways ahead of the forecasted snowfall that is anticipated.

Mainroad offered forecasts for the region:

Elk Valley: Forecasted snowfall is expected to begin tonight and last into Monday. Accumulation amount is forecasted to be up to 10cm for Monday and Tuesday.

Cranbrook: Snowfall is forecasted to begin tomorrow morning with light flurries and increase to heavier snowfall in the afternoon. Forecasted accumulation is up to 10 cm.

Yahk: Snowfall is anticipated to being tonight with up to 10cm forecasted of snowfall and less than 5mm of rain.

Columbia Valley: Snowfall is forecasted to begin tomorrow afternoon and continue throughout the day. Accommodation is expected to be up to 10cm.
