Community Challenge kicks off on BC Trails Day
The ParticipACTION Community Challenge kicks off in Cranbrook on Saturday, June 6, coinciding with BC Trails Day.
The City of Cranbrook, in partnership with Active Cranbrook, is stepping up to join communities across Canada in the ParticipACTION Community Challenge.
Throughout the month of June, residents, groups, schools, local organizations, and community partners are invited to get active, track participation, and help Cranbrook compete for the title of Canada’s Most Active Community—with a chance to win $100,000 to support local physical activity and sport initiatives.
Getting involved is simple, and even small activities can make a big impact. Whether it’s organizing a group walk, hosting a fitness challenge, or encouraging daily movement, every effort counts.
If your group is planning to participate, feel free to reply and let us know—we’d love to hear what you have in mind!
The kick-off event is on BC Trails Day – Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the trailhead of the Northstar Rails-to-Trails. Access at Duthie’s Propane on Collinson Road.
Come out and join us – refreshments, vendors, food trucks, prizes and the RCMP’s 529 Garage project will be there to register your bicycle against theft.
Let’s get Cranbrook moving together!
