Coal Miner Days returns with a week of community fun in Sparwood June 8 to 14.

The annual community festival, held at venues around the town, celebrates local mining heritage with a parade, the Andrew Osbourne Memorial Ball Tournament, kids’ activities, a soapbox derby, markets, food trucks and cabaret dances.

The annual parade, with a Renaissance theme this year, starts rolling at 11 a.m.
