Lynnette Wray launches mayoral campaign
City of Cranbrook Councillor Lynnette Wray officially launched her 2026 mayoral campaign last night at the Ground Floor Coworking Space, with more than 50 city residents in attendance for the announcement.
The first woman to ever run for Cranbrook’s mayoralty, Wray is also the first candidate out of the blocks for the October 17 election.

She outlined what she sees as the city’s needs moving forward, from infrastructure for a growing town to the importance of arts, sports and other people-bonding activities as vital for a healthy community.
Wray was first elected to Cranbrook council four years ago and said the experience has given her grounding, focus and awareness necessary for the mayor’s job.

No other candidates have yet officially declared for the mayoralty and current Mayor Wayne Price is not running for the position again, though he is going to seek election as a councillor.
