Freshies Café in Fernie was packed with people who came to the World Café event regarding the City of Fernie’s Official Community Plan (OCP) important changes conversation on March 12, from 6 to 9 p.m.

“This was an important event as it was for gathering information from the public,” reported Mayor Mary Giuliano.

At least 75 people crowded in the room to give feedback on what they would like to see included in the new OCP.

The event featured a surprise courtesy of the new owners of the Dairy Queen who brought a beautiful cake decorated with mountains and trees and a lake with “Beautiful Fernie” written on it.

“Also, thanks to Kim Stockie from Freshies who opened her café for this special event,” Mayor Giuliano noted.
