Network for Humanity launches website

In celebration of the International Day of Peace, on September 21, the East Kootenay Regional Network for Humanity announced the launch of its website: www.humanitynetwork.ca .

The Humanity Network vision is to facilitate and support the corporation of different groups of people within a single society, and describes a sense of oneness.

Our mission is to create and sustain a regional network of organizations that promotes unity in diversity among the citizens of the East Kootenay connected to the ‘citizen of the world’ whose vision is to foster and be a part of an all-embracing global society.

Over the last two years the East Kootenay Organization for Human Dignity and Equality (EKOHDE) has hosted two round table meetings where civic leaders and service providers across the East Kootenay were asked to give input on creating welcoming and inclusive communities. From these meetings, we developed the Humanity Network, which resulted in a very wonderful website.

In addition to the website, we decided we were going to celebrate three International Days: The International Day of Peace—September 21, The International Day of the Mountain—December 11, and the International Day of the Elimination of Racial Discrimination—March 21.
