Zombies swarming Baker Saturday
Guard your brains.
A horde of the living dead will be swarming down Baker Street to Baker Park Saturday afternoon (Oct. 5).
The second annual Zombie Walk Cranbrook will begin at 1:30 p.m. on 8th Avenue, in the parking lot behind Koco Beach, and proceed to Baker Street, down the main street past Safeway, Mount Baker Secondary School and then around to Baker Park for a walk-ending gathering.
A prep gathering and registration will take place between 1 and 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot on 8th Ave.
Organizers are asking participants to bring a non-perishable food item for the local food bank.
“We’ll make sure they get it cuz Zombies only like flesh and brains brains brains!!!” Organizers declare on their Facebook site (https://www.facebook.com/events/257688897698215/ )
The event attracted about 140 zombies last year, including some brilliantly gruesome beasts, making for quite a spectacle as they shuffled, lurched and groaned their ways down Baker Street.
