Local photographer gets treat driving home from Calgary
Returning from Calgary I was lucky enough to watch this grizzly for over five minutes. She could smell this dead deer, most likely road kill. We watched the bear walk through a field, cross the highway, climb up then back down an embankment. She (I’m guessing it was a she, wouldn’t a he be a lot bigger?) then grabbed the deer by the throat and hauled it back up the embankment and off across a field.
Listening to that bear grunt as she hauled the carcass up the hill, I was happy to be in a car!
