Parker’s Nature
Spring is here and that means bears will are emerging from their winter-long slumber. I took this picture up on the hill beside Selkirk Secondary School last year. But because he was hanging around, with plenty of food giving him no reason to leave, he was destroyed a few days after this picture was taken. It is important that everyone eliminates bear-attractants from their yards, or more bears will end being put down for simply doing what comes natural to them.
Shawn Parker is a Kimberley based photographer whose work appears in e-KNOW and SNAP East Kootenay.
