Rock blasting, scaling work underway
Travellers leaving or arriving to the Columbia Valley at Radium Hot Springs can begin to expect delays on Highway 93 as another rock blasting and scaling project is underway.
Highway 93 (both directions) will be closed two km north of the west boundary of Kootenay National Park because of rock blasting between 10 and 11 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 23.
Be prepared to stop, obey all signs and traffic control personnel. Reduced speed zone in effect.
Rock scaling will be taking place at Sinclair Canyon in Kootenay National Park from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., starting Oct. 16 and running through to Oct. 31.
The road will be reduced to single lane alternating traffic with up to 20 minutes delays for rock blasting.
