It’s Snowflake Festival and Lake ‘spiel time
Get your winter duds on, grab your skates or skis if you want, and hurry hard down to Kinsmen Beach in Invermere as the seventh annual Snowflake Festival gets underway soon, as well as the 32nd annual Bonspiel-on-the-Lake.
The Invermere District Curling Centre is once again hosting the 64-team bonspiel on the ice at Kinsmen Beach, beginning this evening and running through to Sunday (Jan. 24).
Starting at 4 p.m. this afternoon is the seventh annual Snowflake Festival, also at Invermere’s Kinsmen Beach. 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22.
A Taste of the Valley is happening for the hungry and live music featuring Small Town Revival will be keeping things moving until 8 p.m. Enjoy the fire pits, ice skating, a ‘Snowflake Bar’ serving winter warm up drinks, and fireworks at 8 p.m. to end the evening.
The fun all takes place adjacent to an entrance to the Whiteway, the longest outdoor skating track in the world.
