Free seminar looking at commercialization

Kootenay Association for Science and Technology (KAST) and the Kootenay Rockies Innovation Council (KRIC) are hosting a free all-day training and networking event March 14 for Kootenay entrepreneurs and businesses, aiming to help them understand the processes and pitfalls of commercialization.

Organizers promise valuable information and insight on moving from the idea stage all the way through to the market stage and covers all the hazards and opportunities between.

The Commercialization Bootcamp: Get Your Product or Service to Market is for industry professionals, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs and will help them interact to innovate ideas and establish new business relationships. This unique networking opportunity transcends traditional handshakes and exchanging of business cards.

Join subject matter experts at the forefront of their fields in exploring: Product and business development; Accessing resources; Building a support network; Intellectual property and patenting; The journey of a local entrepreneur; Market research and competitive intelligence; All too-common mistakes that lead to new product failure; Commercialization and innovation roadmap; Tax incentives to help offset R&D costs.
