Special meeting to discuss Resolution 5

Tourism Radium Hot Springs Association and Radium Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce is holding a special general meeting Monday, February 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The purpose of the Special General Meeting will be to discuss Resolution #5 from the Annual General Meeting that was tabled by the following motion: “Moved that Resolution 5 be tabled for further study and stakeholder consultation and that the Board of Directors be directed to call a Special General Meeting on or before February 28, 2013 to reconsider a new motion on the proposed 2013 Membership Fees.”

Resolution 5, as amended and attached, will be presented to the membership for their consideration.

The meeting, at the Radium Seniors Hall, will feature lunch at a cost $12 per member. RSVP with the Tourism Radium Hot Springs Association and Radium Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce.

RESOLUTION #5

RE:  2013 – 2014 Membership Fees

WHEREAS the TOURISM RADIUM HOT SPRINGS ASSOCIATION and the RADIUM HOT SPRINGS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Membership Fees are currently set at $225 per member plus taxes, and;

WHEREAS the TOURISM RADIUM HOT SPRINGS ASSOCIATION and the RADIUM HOT SPRINGS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Membership Fees have not changed from their current rate for three years, and;

WHEREAS revenues derived from the Municipal Regional District for the TOURISM RADIUM HOT SPRINGS ASSOCIATION have been declining, and;

WHEREAS new and innovate projects and events for the TOURISM RADIUM HOT SPRINGS ASSOCIATION and the RADIUM HOT SPRINGS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE continue to be identified and require funding, and;

WHEREAS the operational expenses for the TOURISM RADIUM HOT SPRINGS ASSOCIATION and the RADIUM HOT SPRINGS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE continue to increase, now;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that:

The 2013-2014 annual Membership Fees, effective September 1, 2013 for the TOURISM RADIUM HOT SPRINGS ASSOCIATION and the RADIUM HOT SPRINGS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE be increased from $225 to $260 per member plus taxes and that secondary memberships be increased from $50 to $60 plus taxes.
