Eco-Park spring cleaning this Sunday

The Marysville Eco-Park is an incredible feat that transformed a brownfield site into a healthy native plant park along the edge of Mark Creek.

On Sunday, April 3 between 1 – 4:30 p.m. anyone willing to lend a hand is encouraged to drop by to help spruce it up for spring.

Pruning will be the biggest task undertaken, along with invasive plant removal, and garbage clean up. Those attending will also have a chance to make suggestions about how they would like to see the park improved.

Andrea Chapman of Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook Branch Manager encourages people with a desire to get their hands dirty to come on out and help. “It is always wonderful to see friendly faces out at these types of events. It makes you feel good at the end of the day to know you contributed and the changes will be evident as the growing season starts up.”

Those deciding to attend are encouraged to wear work clothes and leather gloves if possible. It is also encouraged that those in attendance bring pruning tools from home if access allows.
