Bridge washed out on Numa Creek trail

During the routine spring inspection of the Numa Creek trail, a Kootenay National Park trail crew discovered that the bridge over the creek at the 3.2 km mark has been washed out, and significant debris accumulation in the area has made the trail impassable.

Access and exit from the Rockwall trail will not be possible via Numa Creek for the 2026 hiking season. Access to the Rockwall via Floe Lake, Tumbling Creek or Helmet Falls is unaffected.

The Numa Creek campground is unaffected and can still be accessed via the Rockwall trail – reservations are required in advance.

The Numa Falls day use area will also be accessible.
